Parking at Santorini Airport
Santorini Airport’s car park is beside the terminal, open-air, and modest, which is about right: almost no visitor drives to the airport. Its users are islanders flying to Athens, the airport staff and the rental companies shuffling cars, and it has a space most of the year. The forecourt in front of the building is another matter, a jam of transfer minibuses, quads and taxis on every summer afternoon.
The eastern plain has no shade and a strong north wind in summer; a car left for a week comes back dusty and hot, nothing worse.

Drop-off and pick-up
The forecourt is the most congested spot on the island after the Oia sunset. Drop off, unload and leave; to collect someone, park in the car park (first 10 minutes free) and wait in the hall. Check the live arrivals board first: with the caldera hotels’ porters and the transfer drivers all timing their run on the same flights, a delayed arrival is worth knowing about before you set out.
Long stays and alternatives
Santorini has almost no private airport parking because there is almost no demand; the rental companies’ yards in Monolithos and Messaria are the nearest thing, for their own customers. Islanders leaving for a week use the airport car park or a relative’s driveway in Monolithos, five minutes’ walk away. The airport has no involvement in private arrangements.
